Spoons catch a variety of fish; and provide a "different look" from the usual spinnerbaits, crankbaits and jigs that most fishermen use. The spoon is a versatile tool that every angler needs to have in his arsenal. Capt. Kirk Weber, of Captain Kirk's Guide Service (www.captainkirksguideservice) and I loaded the boat using small spoons, utilizing the "stroking" technique to fish them. We caught bass, yellow bass, crappie and white bass on them. The action was fast and exciting.
Large spoons were used to make some big catches during the BASSMASTER Elite Tournament in June, 2008.
